Towing and Trailer Sway Control
Building on AdvanceTrac™ with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™), the standard trailer sway control selectively brakes and adjusts engine power to maintain trailer control.39 The result is stability and control, even when towing large loads. When properly equipped, the Explorer can tow up to 5,600 lbs. * The Class IV Trailer Tow Package is available with the 2.3L and 3.0L EcoBoost® engines and 3.3L hybrid engine.

Available Intelligent 4WD comes with seven selectable drive modes, accessed through a single easy-to-use dial in the center console. Normal, Trail, Deep Snow/Sand, Slippery, Sport, Tow/Haul and Eco mode that each come with special 3D animated graphics in the available 12.3" digital cluster. Plus, Hill Descent Control™ helps control braking and speed on steep grades.10 And with Intelligent 4WD, there's also the added benefit of enhanced control on your day-to-day commute, especially when conditions are rough. *
Auto High-Beam Headlamps
With Auto High-Beam Headlamps, unlit roads, dark peripheries, and other low-visibility situations don’t have to catch you off guard. Auto High-Beam Headlamps can sense poor lighting conditions and switch on to light your path ahead. They can even sense oncoming headlights and dim automatically so you don’t have to worry about blinding other drivers. As a result, you can keep your focus – and both hands on the wheel.
Rear View Camera
Backing up made easy. The available Rear View Camera provides a clear view of what’s behind your vehicle. It also comes with a built-in washer so you can keep the camera lens free of debris (like snow or dust) and navigate Reverse with confidence.
Lane-Keeping System
The available Lane-Keeping System can help you stay in your lane, even during a moment of distraction. This smart feature scans your vehicle’s position between the lines in the road ahead and can alert you if you’re starting to edge out of your lane. Having trouble staying on track? After you’ve drifted a few times, you’ll see a coffee cup icon, letting you know it’s time to take a break.
Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
Not only does the available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) help you keep pace on your journey, it also features Speed Sign Recognition that can slow down your vehicle if the traffic ahead has stopped or slowed. * As soon as things clear, you’ll resume your set speed. And that’s not the only way it levels up your cruise control experience. The added Lane Centering Assist feature even scans lane markings to help you keep your vehicle centered between the lines.
Pre-Collision Assist With Automatic Emergency Brake (AEB)
This available feature scans the road ahead and can alert you to potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians detected in your path. If an impact becomes imminent and you don’t take corrective action, the brakes can apply automatically. But don’t worry – they’ll only activate if they’re needed.
BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert
Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert can help detect and alert you to vehicles in your blind spots, while Cross-Traffic Alert can detect traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway.
Reverse Brake Assist
Backing up just got a lot less stressful. Available Reverse Brake Assist can detect both stationary and moving objects behind your vehicle — alerting you to potential hazards like garage pillars and distracted pedestrians.
